Engineering Works, the number one event for machinery and equipment in the metal industry, and Nordic Welding Expo, the largest welding, joining and cutting exhibition in the Nordic countries, draw on solid expertise to showcase the spirit of a modern engineering workshop. The latest equipment, the most powerful machines and the most advanced technologies, not to mention meaningful encounters, will bring industry professionals, future talent and the most interesting companies together in the exhibition halls in Tampere at the turn of the month.
− Industrial order books in many fields are full well into next year. The green transition, changes in supply chains and the return of production are the hot topics of the day. There are uncertainties up in the air, but the rapid changes in the conditions provide, above all, many exciting opportunities for Finnish industry. Modern, energy-efficient production combined with automation and robotics will provide the keys to success also in the future. Engineering Works is an event where you can not only see the latest machinery and talk to experts to find the right investment to meet your needs, but also meet with other players in the industry and keep up with the times, says Senior Advisor Jan Sucksdorff from the Association of Finnish Technical Traders.
− It feels great to know that the highly anticipated event is once again around the corner! One of the best things about Nordic Welding Expo is the chance to truly experience how the machines, equipment and tools work in practice and to meet experts who provide solutions to any challenges in production. The number one event in the welding industry is a unique, significant meeting place – we wish everyone a warm welcome and successful days at the expo, says Jukka Kömi, Chair of the Welding Society of Finland.
Visitors should steel themselves for the program of this metalfest of encounters, featuring interesting talks, demonstrations and shows, seminars and workshops. Engineering Works and Nordic Welding Expo provide an outlook of modern, responsible industry that puts people’s well-being first. The themes of the event are advanced machinery, the modern workshop and smart investments. On Wednesday, 30 November, visitors can get inspired by the keynote speech of non-fiction author Antti Merilehto about Human-machine interaction. On the opening day on Tuesday, visitors can focus on the panel discussion concerning Bold and responsible investments, which opens a vista into the world economy and financial market now and in the future. During the event, the Welding Society of Finland will organize the Finnish Welding Championship for young welders who are pursuing a vocational upper secondary qualification. WSF will also be giving out the award Lasertyöstetty huipputuote 2022 – Top Laser Machined Product 2022 and the recognition Vuoden hitsaushuippu – Top Welder of the Year in three categories.
New dimensions in a new professional event for 3D printing and new materials
3D & New Materials is a brand-new event dedicated to 3D printing and new materials, covering innovations and the latest developments in the industry from design to manufacturing services and from device suppliers to technology, research and education and future materials. The full 3D printing process will be showcased at the event, from development to the final product, including the latest material solutions for the manufacturing industry.
− 3D & New Materials is now organized for this first time, which means that this is the first event organized in Finland that will gather all the players in 3D printing together in Tampere. If you have been thinking about applying 3D printing in your company, this is the perfect opportunity to see a cross-section of the whole industry and the opportunities it provides. Even if 3D printing is already an integral part of your business, the event can still offer you new insight and topics, both in the talks and at the stands. Come to Tampere and use this chance to meet the all the top Finnish names in the industry and find out how your company can get started with 3D printing in the best possible way, says FAME Ecosystem Lead Eetu Holstein from DIMECC.
The program includes talks on current topics and interesting workshops. The workshop of Etteplan on the Wednesday of the event deals with the design of 3D printed parts by providing a cross-section of typical 3D printing techniques with metals. A workshop on Thursday ‘Research and development of additive manufacturing in the Turku region’ explores the range of talent in the industry, bringing together students, researchers and experts. Santeri Varis will share his thoughts on the largest 3D-printed pressure vessel in Europe, which is also on display at the fair, while Aku Tuunainen will give a talk ‘Using your own welding robot to get started with WAAM technology?’.
